Reflection on my camp at GLPS 2013

My goals that I tried to achieve during 30 days were
1, making lots of friends,

2, improving my debate skills,

and 3, being healthy and not getting sick.

The steps I took to achieve my 3 goals were very easy. For my first goal which was making lots of friends, I tried to be nice and respectful to all my classmates and roommates. For my second goal which was improving my debate skills, I firstly practiced and secondly tried not to use one liners. Lastly for my third goal which was being healthy and not getting sick, I ate less sugar and used the stairs.

I think I achieved all three goals because I made a lot of friends like from my class and my room. I think we're friends now. It's sad I can't meet them anymore after 4 daysㅠㅠ. My second goal was improving my debate skills and from 2 minutes and 52 seconds I have improved it to about 10 minutes. Our debate teacher Wayne also said he thinks I pushed myself! My last goal was being healthy and not getting sick. I haven't been sick at all during the 4 weeks I have been here. I'm so happy I achieved all three goals!!

My trip to Europe

Hello everyone! Today I would like to show you my memories of my trip to Austria, Hungary, and Czech Republic.I went there with my mom and dad in April. I had to miss two weeks of school to go on this trip.

Our first stop was Vienna, Austria. We went to a famous restaurant which was famous for Wiener Schnitzel. I also got to drink my favorite drink ginger ale!

Wiener Schnitzel- Taste kind of like 돈까스 with lemon sprinkled on top instead of sauce
In my opinion I like Korean 돈까스 better. The Wiener Schnitzel was kind of greasy.

St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna, Austria
Isn't it very magnificent? I can't believe it was made in  1147!!!!

We went on a tour  called The Original Sound of Music Tour. We got to see the scenes of the movie like the houses and the outsides. The important thing is the house in the movies outside and inside are two different houses!

Hallstatt is known for production of salt and is also known well for its beauty.
But I don't really think Hallstatt is that beautiful.

Our second stop was Budapest, Hungary. My mom really liked Budapest and was very sad when we left. Do you want to know the reason why? It's because there were a lot of places that came in the movie Iris which is a movie my mom likes.

Heroes Square in Budapest, Hungary
This square is a scene that comes in Iris.
Budapest, Hungary
This scene as well comes in Iris.

Last and third stop was Prague, Czech Republic. We stayed here about three days. We saw a lot of cool stuff here. Prague was my second favorite place from our trip.

Prague's Astronomical Clock Tower
A skeleton rings a bell and then Jesus's 12 disciples and a chicken comes out.

The John Lennon wall which is in  Prague, Czech Republic.
Lots of people write stuff or draw pictures on the wall.
Love locks! People wish for their love to last forever!
But the important thing is there are people whose jobs are cutting the love locks!

This was my essay about my trip to Austria, Hungary, and Czech Republic.

The Three Flies and The Spider

"Let's go on a trip!"
"Sounds fun!"
"Okay!"
There were three female flies of age three named Flee, Flo, and Flum. They decided to go on a trip. They came out from their home in the trash can and flew a while until they reached a house with an open window in to the attic. Flee, Flo, and Flum flew around to find a place to sleep during the night.
"What about here?"
"Okay. It is a nice corner to sleep in!"
So the three flies went to sleep in the corner.
When the three flies woke up they found themselves caged inside a spider web cage.
"Oh no!"
"We're caged!"
"What should we do?"
"Why don't we...

Movie Review- The Wizard of Oz

Last Sunday during self study period we watched the movie The Wizard of Oz. It was a fiction movie based on the classic written by L. Frank Baum. The movie was directed by Victor Fleming in 1939.
This movie is about a girl named Dorothy who gets lost in a place called Oz and tries to find her way home. The main characters in The Wizard of Oz are Dorothy and Toto and the sub characters are Aunty Em, Uncle Henry, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Lion, the wizard of Oz, the wicked witch of the east and west, Ms.Gulch, and the munchkins.
In the movie Dorothy meets a tornado . Her house is blown up and then lands in the Munchkinland, and also on the wicked witch of the east. Dorothy gets magical red shoes and the wicked witch of the west tries to steal them from her but she fails and also melts and dies. Dorothy follows a yellow brick road and meet the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Lion on the way to Oz. Dorothy and her friends go to Oz and meet the wizard of Oz and the Scarecrow is given brains, the Tinman a heart, courage for the Lion, and the wizard offers to go back to Kansas with Dorothy on a hot air balloon. But Toto jumps off the balloon and so Dorothy goes to Toto and the wizard of Oz disappears on his balloon. Dorothy starts to get sad and worried when the good witch of the north tells Dorothy how to get back to Kansas. Dorothy then wakes up and finds out it was all a dream.
I think the lesson of this movie is to be brave and try hard to achieve your goals. Dorothy tries very hard to go back to Kansas and also she is very brave when she meets the Lion, the wicked witch of the west, and the wizard of Oz.
I personally don't really like this movie because it is so old and very childish. I thought that the backgrounds looked so fake and that the actors and actresses weren't very good. Also even though Dorothy gets stuck in a tornado, she is absolutely fine and her house lands perfectly on the ground in the middle of a town. Not even one house is damaged! And in the tornado people are riding boats, riding bikes, and knitting calmly sitting on an armchair! Usually if you see the news, or something a lot of people are killed or hurt and lots of homes are damaged. I mean it may be because it is all a dream but still I think the movie wasn't good.
