1, making lots of friends,
2, improving my debate skills,
and 3, being healthy and not getting sick.
The steps I took to achieve my 3 goals were very easy. For my first goal which was making lots of friends, I tried to be nice and respectful to all my classmates and roommates. For my second goal which was improving my debate skills, I firstly practiced and secondly tried not to use one liners. Lastly for my third goal which was being healthy and not getting sick, I ate less sugar and used the stairs.
I think I achieved all three goals because I made a lot of friends like from my class and my room. I think we're friends now. It's sad I can't meet them anymore after 4 daysㅠㅠ. My second goal was improving my debate skills and from 2 minutes and 52 seconds I have improved it to about 10 minutes. Our debate teacher Wayne also said he thinks I pushed myself! My last goal was being healthy and not getting sick. I haven't been sick at all during the 4 weeks I have been here. I'm so happy I achieved all three goals!!
Congratulations on achieving your three goals :) I think you also accomplished your fourth goal, which you did not mention: to excel and improve in English composition. You have shown great effort and concentration in English composition. I am very impressed :)
ReplyDeleteI will give an overall comment based on what I have read and heard for the past 2 weeks. I think your creative story did not fully show your potential. Although the story was well written and the structure was solid, you needed to elaborate more on the settings and the characters. However, I was surprised with your diamante poems. I think you have an exceptional talent in choosing adequate words for each sentences.
What you can improve later on is trying out with complex sentence structures. Your sentences seem to be limited to simple sentences. There are many complex sentence structures, such as independent and dependent clause (I wanted to go hiking; however, I couldn't hike because it was raining), appositives (A person exceptionally talented in mathematics, John Nash became an eminent professor), modifiers, and so on. There are several ways to improve and practice complex sentence structures. One way is to read several books. I recommend you to read "Newberry Awards books", books which have received critical acclaims from authors and readers. Such books include "the giver", "a girl named disaster", and "Charlotte's Web"
It has been a pleasure to meet a person who has a same name with me :) Have a nice summer. If you have any questions, feel free to call me on facebook. You will be able to find my account by searching "Sun Woo James Park".
